Secret Wealth Files 14-15 (Week 6)

September 1, 2008 | Leave a Comment

I was watching The Oprah Show earlier and the guest on the show was Suze Orman.

A viewer asked Suze Orman this question, “How do you find the best financial advisor?”  Suze answered, “Look into the mirror.  You ARE your best financial advisor.  No one will be able to understand better on how you handle your money than your own self.”

So it’s time we take control of our own money.  That’s the topic for this week’s Secret Wealth Files.

Do You Know What You Want?

July 20, 2008 | Leave a Comment

“The #1 reason most people don’t get what they want is because they don’t know what they want.” T. Harv Eker

Rich and successful people always know what they want and they know that very specifically. After knowing what they want they can then formulate the strategies that will help them achieve what they want. They commit themselves to follow through with their plans to reach their goal.

In addition to knowing what you want, it is also important to be clear and specific about it so that
Photo by Jennie R. F. there is a visible target for you to focus on.

For example Adam knows that what he wants is to lose weight. Which statement do you think will commit him to attain his target better?

“I want to lose weight.” Or
“I want to lose 10kg by 31 December 2008.”

The 2nd statement has more impact isn’t it?

With clear and precise goal, it helps us remain focused and enables us to formulate the necessary plans to achieve the goal.

So do you know what you want specifically? I’m not surprised if most people don’t. Here is what you can do to help find out what is it that you want.

Most people are not very good at identifying what they want. But they are generally good at knowing what then don’t want. So we can start by finding out what we don’t want to help us identify what we want. List down the things that you don’t like. For each of the things that you don’t like, think about what you would like instead. Once you are able to identify what you like, pay attention to them and find ways to achieve them. Remember to always be clear and specific to hold yourself to your wants. Set out the plan to achieve what you want and follow through to complete it. Bear in mind rich and successful people always complete what they start as well…

Options Trading Anyone?

July 7, 2008 | 6 Comments

Written by C Hun

The first time I knew about options trading was when I attended an options trading preview one and a half years ago in Penang.  I was so amazed with how much money a person can make from options trading. Immediately I decided that options trading is something I wanted to do all along. I signed up the offer without any hesitation.

The options trading course was conducted by Dr Clemen Chiang of Freely Business School, Singapore.  It was a 3 days 3 nights course.  Yup, you read right.  It’s full 3 days and 3 nights!  I have never attended such an intensive course until then.  Each day started at 8.30am and ended between 1-3am.  We only had about 5 hours sleep each day.  It was indeed a very taxing 3 full days.  Break and lunch time was short.  Even toilet breaks!  But hey, don’t get me wrong.  I’m not complaining.  Instead, I’m very grateful to Dr Clemen for his commitment and enthusiasm.

I must admit I was actually spoilt by all those seminars that I attended previously whereby we have good morning break, good lunch, good tea break in the afternoon and it normally ends around 5.00pm.

However, I learnt so much from the three days.  It was not only options trading but lots more for my personal development.  I started to believe that I can actually make it and become someone who is going to be very successful.

During the learning process, I discovered how tiny we are as a person. We know so little in life but we thought we know everything.  We also stop developing ourselves after graduating from university or college.  We went for training which was paid by our employer and we acquired knowledge that are all job related.  With that, we hope to move up the corporate ladder and by then, we think we are experts. Little did we know that we are just expert in one or two particular areas.  But we are not an expert in life. We may be earning so called very good income but that income is only enough for our family to live a life that is reasonably good, not GREAT.

By now, some of you may be thinking what nonsense is this guy talking about… but hey, I was like that before. I know what you are thinking. Let me share this with you… there are more things that we can learn if we have an open mind.

I started to trade with real money when we participated in the Options Trading Championship in Oct last year.  We made some losses during the championship. However, at that time I still have the thinking that I am good but because of a bit of bad luck, I didn’t make the money I wanted to make.  After returning from the championship I continued to trade. With some lucky trades, I started to make some money but it all went down the drain when I suddenly lost focus. I started to lose money again.

It was only until I attended T. Harv Eker’s Millionaire Mind Intensive seminar last year end in Singapore that I realized my problem.  During the seminar, I discovered that I had the wrong mindset.  And that was my financial blue print, a blue print that will make me work for my whole life and fail for my whole life - a wrong mindset that was developed since I was very very young.

Let me put it this way (and I belief a lot of people will be like that as well), you think that your failure is purely due to bad luck.  With the wrong mindset, you start to develop a habit of blaming others for your failure.  This is one of the simplest way to explain for your failure.  Most people think that they are unlucky, they are cheated by others, they were not at the right place at the right time, they were not given a chance to show their true capabilities.  Sounds familiar?  Prolong delay of this kind of thinking will eventually create a habit, a habit that will control your mindset and eventually your whole life will be filled with failure. You will continue to blame others until the day you die. So what will you achieve in your life?

After trading for a few months after the seminar, I realized that I still have lots to learn and there is so little time. I start to realize how important time is for me but there are still people who are wasting their time doing nothing or hoping for some miracle. I was like those people before just thinking, not doing anything.

Today, I’ve changed. I’m starting to act. I’ve changed my mindset to live a more meaningful life.

Looking back, I started trading since last October 2007, lost almost 90% of my money in my account in 7 months.  I decided that I will not be a loser again. I’m going to make money in options trading.  My target is making USD5000 per month starting from August 2008.

As a commitment, I will be putting my daily transactions here and also share with everyone how I decide on each trade.  So, do join me here regularly to see my progress and do share your personal experiences with us here as well.

Secret Wealth Files 1-2 (Week 1)

July 3, 2008 | 2 Comments

All of us attended T Harv Eker’s Millionaire Mind Intensive in Singapore last year and we were all blown away by what T Harv Eker taught us during the 3 days.  It was definitely the most enriching 3 days we have had for a very long time.  The level of energy we experienced at that time was amazing and unbelievable.  We have never attended any seminar packed with almost 5000 participants!  It was indeed one of the most valuable investments we made on ourselves.  After the event, we decided that this is something that we want to share with everyone.

At the same time, after the intensive 3-days we have to keep on practising what we have learnt and to instill it as part of our lives.  As such, we were excited when T Harv Eker released the Secret Wealth Files which summarises what he taught us in Millionaire Mind Intensive.  Over here, we would like to share it with you weekly (for 7 weeks).  You can also visit this website to enrol for the multimedia online course for free.

How is Petrol Price Hike related to Personal Development?

June 5, 2008 | 4 Comments

Today we received a very interesting email from our friend, Chuan Hock who attended the Millionaire Mind Intensive in KL recently. He was commenting about the recent petrol price hike announced by the Malaysian government yesterday. You must be wondering how petrol price hike is related to personal development. Read on to find out…

Written by Chuan Hock

Yesterday evening, 4th June 2008, at approximately 5pm, the car owners of the whole Malaysian nation rushed to fill up their tank as if petrol is on one day sale! This is following the announcement that the petrol price will be increase from RM1.92 to RM2.70 per litre.

What are these people are thinking? Are they dumb or smart? In fact I am quite sad looking at the situation where people are rushing for petrol! I am sad not because of the petrol price hike. I am sad because the people surrounding us have ‘poor’ mindset!!!!

Where is T. Harv Eker????

The people of our country need your help to change their money blue print! We need more MMI (Millionaire Mind Intensive) seminars to be held here to help our fellow citizens!!!

Imagine, every road that has petrol stations was jammed due to the cars queuing to top up their petrol tank! Everywhere, every state, every kampung, every road, every corner that has got a petrol station were jammed! People were willing to queue up for 1-2 hours to get their tank filled. Is it worth doing that?

Let’s assume a car has a 50 liter tank capacity. If the tank is almost empty, then you have no choice but to queue to refill. You will save RM39 (this is assuming your tank is dry to the brink).

But not every petrol tank is empty. Majority are half full, or 2/3 or 1/3 full. So, let’s just take an average of just 1/2 tank (25 liters) to be refilled.

25 liters x RM0.78 = RM19.50

(Note: 78 cents is the increased amount)

So, an average driver (per car) will save RM19.50 by topping up the petrol tank.

Question: Do you think it is worth to queue for 2 hours to save RM19.50?

Why can’t these people use the 2 hours to do something of more value which is worth more than RM19.50 of what they can save???

How much can you earn in 2 hours?

- a typical hawker can fry approximately 50 plates of koay teow. If one plate costs RM4, with just a nett profit of RM1 per plate, he/she will earn RM50 in 2 hours!

- an investor (forex or options trading) can earn a few hundred or a few thousand dollars in 2 hours

- an average engineer’s salary is more than RM10 per hour!

- even a cleaner (the person who comes to clean your house aka ‘maids’) earns more than RM19.50 in 2 hours. They are paid RM50 for a 4 hours job.

If a cleaner’s job is worth more than RM19.50 for 2 hours, and if you feel that you have done a fantastic job by queuing up for 2 hours just to save RM19.50, I think all those queuing for petrol that night will be in very deep trouble when comes the time petrol price hits RM4 per liter!!!

Why? Because by the time petrol price is RM4 (per liter), these people will still be the same, doing the same thing, queuing up to pump to full tank trying to save the one time cost!

They never think of a way of to make their money work harder for them to overcome this crisis! They never think of passive income, investment or business to channel more $$$ for them! They just sit and complain about the price hike!

I really hope that those who are willing to change their life and change their money (financial) blueprint will attend T Harv Eker’s Millionaire Mind Intensive (MMI) seminar. After attending MMI, you will know why millionaires are different from others…. and you will be on your way to be one of them once you have the right mindset!

And when comes the next petrol price hike, you won’t be sitting in your car queuing up to pump petrol anymore!

T Harv Eker’s MMI in KL

May 25, 2008 | 11 Comments

T Harv Eker’s Millionaire Mind Intensive finally concluded today. In this 3 days, it was heart warming to get calls and sms from relatives, friends and readers who had attended the MMI saying how much they enjoyed the course.

It felt good that we can help our relatives, friends and readers to grow their mindset and free them from their past experiences and knowledge that are holding them back from their true potential.

We were quite disappointed that we couldn’t help some readers to buy last minute tickets to the event. But lets take it positively as a good lesson that when opportunities arise, we must quickly evaluate it and take IMMEDIATE ACTION.

Most of the time we procrastinate and fear hold us back from exploring opportunities. Then we miss the boat and curse that we are not lucky or we don’t get good breaks. Well, the reason why we don’t get a good break or opportunity or get lucky because we didn’t take immediate action on opportunities!

T Harv Eker is holding one last MMI this year in Singapore. Those who missed out this event can go to the last one for this year in Singapore. We’ll be putting up a link for people who would like to sign up for the event in Singapore soon. Again…please book early because the seats can be sold out. Once the link for booking is up, we’ll post it here. So please check this blog often for details or subscribe to our free newsletter subscription and notifications on updates on our posts.
