Important Questions In Life (Part 2)

Who is the most important person?

Have you given some thoughts to the above question? I believe generally people will say their parents, their spouse, their children, their mentors etc… But here is something that I think most people will not have thought of. The most important person is… “the person you are with at that moment”, whoever it may be… Why?

Take an example of a conversation between you and a friend. Assuming when you try to talk, your friend just listens to you half heartedly or does something else when you are talking. He or she doesn’t seem to be paying much attention to you. How will you feel? You will feel that you are not taken seriously and it’s a lousy feeling isn’t it? On the other hand, if your friend listens to you tentatively and pays full attention to whatever you have to say, then your feeling is totally opposite. You will feel good isn’t it? That’s because your friend has made you feel important. At that moment of time, You, are the most important person to your friend. Nobody else or nothing else matter more.

If you treat the person you are with at any particular time as the most important person in the world, regardless of who he or she is, that person will feel it and will response back in a positive way. When you do that, you are also fully listening and not judging…

In a relationship, sometimes couples don’t make each other feel that they are important anymore, and problems start to affect the relationship. Always remember that no matter how busy we are, when we are with our partner, make them feel that they are the most important person in the world. This is a good way to have a better relationship. The same goes for business. If you are with a customer, at that particular time, the customer is the most important person to you. If you treat the customer as the most important person, your customer will feel it and you can be sure that your sales will go up as well.

There are also many instances in a day when you are alone by yourself. During that time, You become the most important person. As such, you should give importance to yourself. For example, when you wake up in the morning, who is the person you are first aware of? It’s you yourself. So greet yourself and tell yourself to have a great day ahead. By giving importance to yourself, you learn to appreciate yourself more.

Here is the next question for you to think about before I continue. “What is the most important thing to do?” Happy thinking and stay tuned…
